So check out this design that BAIT unveiled when teaming up with American Needle last fall for their MLB Collection; and since then has teamed up with Mitchell & Ness for their NBA Collection, as well as their recently-released NHL Collection. Bait is a “lifestyle boutique offering an ever-changing collection of limited-edition footwear, apparel, collectible, art toys, and electronics, as well as exclusive collaborations with the industry’s most in-demand brands.”

Re-Launching of ZSnapbackHats.Com

Hey everyone, I have decided to take a different route with ZSnapbackHats.com. Instead of focusing in on Zephyr hats alone, I will be expanding my view to everything… I really mean EVERYTHING. I basically want to be able to share a history of everything I find about hats; it could be vintage, or it could be made by my little brother; it could be a strapback, or it could be a curved-bill fitted uncle Joe wears (okay, I promise that won’t happen alot). I want a collection of ideas that I, and other hat rats, can go and see whenever; I also want other people to be able to share their ideas with pictures, video, etc.

So, starting whenever I end up starting this, it’s not only going to be about Zephyr. I’m sure I will post about their upcoming releases and designs, but I want to broaden my horizon and get other people’s ideas, whether it is from New Era or someone I ran across on Twitter. Until I get this thing cranking, I’ll probably end up moving a bunch of Zephyr posts over to the Super-Fan Blog. I would love to get this rolling by the beginning of summer (probably May-June). In the mean time, if you’ve seen anything unique that is hat related, share your idea; if you saw a cool picture, share it; I think you all should get the idea by now. These, the Animal Style snapbacks, have eight different designs printed on the snapback brim. Here are the various kinds, so you will never mix them again! Featured above on a Florida Gators snapback hat is the design called ‘Tribal,’ which mimics tribe-like markings. Left, the brim design called ‘Cheetah,’ is what it is: Cheetah markings. This is featured on other teams like BYU Cougars and Washington St.

Washington Huskies Animal Style – Elephant/Cement Brim

Pictured right is the ‘Elephant’ brim design, as featured on a Washington Huskies Animal Style snapback. There is another brim design called ‘Cement’ that can be confused with this. Compare the Texas Animal Style (Cement) snapback with the Alabama Animal Style (Elephant). I think there may have been an issue with the labeling/naming when these hats were made.

Miami Hurricanes Animal Style – Aloha Style

Left, the brim design called ‘Aloha’ as seen on a Miami Hurricanes snapback hat. The whole brim brings to mind the Hawaiian feel with it’s aloha-leaves! Nebraska Cornhuskers Animal Style – Shark Brim

This next brim design is called the ‘Shark,’ because of its resemblance of a shark-fin or shark-teeth, possibly even the waves in an ocean. It may not go as well with teams like Nebraska or Miami, but it is definitely fitting for the San Jose Sharks, and blends well with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.

Miami Hurricanes Animal Style – Feather Brim

The ‘Feather’ brim is a very eye-catching style with it ‘s precise feather design that is screen printed. Thisworks perfectly for teams like the Oregon Ducks, Chicago Blackhawks, Kansas Jayhawks, Iowa Hawkeyes, or the Detroit Red Wings because their mascot is bird-related. This is one of the more detailed animal prints on the Animal Style snapbacks.

Colorado Avalanche Animal Style – Tiger Brim

Another great brim design is the ‘Tiger,’ which looks great on colleges like LSU, Auburn, Clemson, Grambling St., and Jackson St.. It can even go good with NHL teams like the Colorado Avalanche, which can be seen to the right.

Below, the ‘Leopard’ Animal Style brim; this is only featured on three colleges so far: Cal, North Carolina, and SDSU.

Zephyr Paint Splatter Snapbacks

I am on time (for once!) with this post! Within the last week, Zephyr released a line of “Splatter snapbacks,” which appear to have paint splattered and splashed on the brim and button. The splatter design is screen printed onto the brim of the hats, as well as the button. The pictures to follow are all examples of this eye-catching snapback design:

Not only is the Michigan Splatter above unique because of the design on the brim, but also because this is the first time Zephyr has used this Michigan logo on a snapback.

What else about the paint Splatter Snapback?

First off, I noticed that the snap in the back was dual-colored. One might say, “So what if it’s dual-colored? You see that a lot these days.” That’s right, you do; but the colors are a team color with black. With the paint Splatter snapbacks, one snap is a team color, the other is WHITE. Second, you will see some alternate logos that have not been on a Zephyr snapback before. I already mentioned this with the Michigan Splatter, but it is true for South Carolina as well. The raised embroidery with the new designs really stands out, even to someone who has sees snapbacks everyday.

In conclusion, when the previously-mentioned factors (paint splatter, raise-embroidered new logos, and new dual-colored snaps) are combined, the result is fantastic. For teenagers in highschool, wearing a snapback is a fashion statement, meant to grab attention, and a way to represent their team. Without a doubt, these Splatter snapbacks are the most fitting way to do so.

If any of the stores in your area have not ordered these hats, let them know! If they don’t, you can always find them online. This snapback design is already up for sale on Hatmonster.com for numerous colleges and NHL teams.
